"join us in caring for our quality of life..." Thurston Climate Action Team
The Thurston Climate Action Team is a public/private partnership dedicated to creating a healthy and sustainable future for Thurston County by encouraging, coordinating, and taking action on climate change. TCAT's founding members include individuals serving on local jurisdiction governing bodies, along with citizen activitists, representatives of key planning entities in the county and the educational community. TCAT has identified three priority areas for its work
- energy efficiency in buildings
- transportation, and
- land use.
Through a partnership with the Thurston Economic Development Council (EDC), TCAT is implementing an Energy Efficiency Program that has been successfully grant-funded for 2010-2011. The Program's goal is to evaluate and retrofit existing homes and businesses in Thurston County to improve their energy performance.
Meeting schedule
The Thurston Climate Action Team meets the third Wednesday of every month, from 5:30pm - 7:30pm, in Room 280 of the Thurston County Courthouse building, 2000 Lakeridge Drive, SW, Olympia WA. All are welcome to join us!
