Maureen D. Taylor, Chair of the Michigan Welfare Rights Organization, has been in the forefront of the fight to end poverty for over 20 years. She is known for her work to end privatization and water shut offs for more than 45,000 Detroit homes. In Olympia this month Taylor will address economic change as permanent, not simply a cyclical crisis. She will discuss MLK Jr.’s historic Poor People’s Campaign, today’s struggles for Poor People’s Economic Human Rights, and her vision for a future in which we provide for the many and not just the few.

To get there, take Highway 101 off I-5. Exit onto Black Lake Boulevard southbound. Proceed approximately 2 miles, then turn left onto the Black Lake-Belmore Road. Follow the Black Lake-Belmore Road approximately 2 miles. Turn right onto 66th. At the sharp curve to the left, 66th will become known as Fairview Road. Kenneydell County Park entrance is 600 feet after the curve on the right.
