SAFECO awards CIELO's literacy programs with Agent Hero Award

Included in the photo are: Maria Teresa Rodriguez, Lynn Dils, Mariana Heredia, Frances Tanaka, Denise Lynch, Teresa Landreau, Sherry Sullivan, Sue Ramiah (SAFECO agent), Carlos Aguilera, Corporate SAFECO representative, Rosanne Nicholson, and Drake Nicholson (owner of Nicholson Insurance and Associates).

CIELO would like to say THANK YOU to SAFECO and its local agents for donating $9,000 to its literacy program.

We’d like to congratulate Sue Ramiah for winning the SAFECO Community Hero Award for all her efforts in supporting community programs. How lucky we are to have someone who understands the important role of non-profit agencies in our community as our agent.

We'd especially like to thank Drake Nicholson for hosting such an entertaining reception and "big check" presentation. It was delightful to get a chance to meet all the Nicholson associates and have the opportunity to talk about our work and organization.

Nisqually Tribe 2% funds awarded to CIELO

The newest program provided by the CIELO Project's Literacy Program are the English as a Second Language classes being offered in Yelm in cooperation with the Yelm Community Center. Yul Gamboa has been hired to teach this multi-level class from 6:00 - 8:30 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

CIELO is also providing GED preparation classes on the Nisqually Reservation on Monday through Thursday from 1:00 - 3:00 pm, taught by Bonnie Rose. Classes are in coordination with the tribal educational services and are open to those living on the reservation.

A hearty welcome to Yul Gamboa and Bonnie Rose, CIELO's newest employees!
