Welcome to the

Single Parents Support Network

Single Parents are often stereotyped as being less than and having an "alternative" lifestyle. As a single parent myself, I see this as a misconception created from the idea that being married is the ideal way to raise children. There is no ideal way to raise children other than a loving parent being present and fully engaged. If this is achieved, the rest just seems to fall into place, whether there are two parents or one. It is our perception of our situation that dictates how things will turn out. If we are confident and feel supported, we can parent successfully on our own. This site has been created for single parents and their children. It is a source of comfort, support, and information. My goal is to blow away the stigma of single parenting being "less than" and create a community for those of us who know we are "equal to or greater than".

Thank you!
