Admission/cost.. Register by prior Friday: $50

We want to have a deep, loving relationship with God. We've read about the saints - and, oh, yes, the mystics – who seem to know Jesus personally. "But I'm so busy!" we lament. In this workshop we will look at one tool for finding more time for God. We will address the conundrum that life is out of balance, and explore four prayer styles: reciting the prayers of others, speaking to God from the heart, listening for and to God, and being with God. We will emphasize listening.

Register by prior Friday: $50. Bring a sack lunch and a journal. (Minimum 5)

Bee Jay Mar is an Associate of St. Placid. Her own prayer life could best be described as "varied". She grew up a Bible-Belt Methodist, participated in the Charismatic Renewal of the 1970's, and has moved into the high church Episcopal. She's made Cursillo, done the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, attended several five-day Academies for Spiritual formation (sponsored by The Upper Room), and enjoyed countless programs at the Priory!

It's time again to register for the annual Interfaith Advocacy Day! IFAD brings together social justice advocates from faith communities and nonprofits across the state of Washington. The day's activities include workshops on issues and advocacy (topics will include the state budget, environment, disability services, and housing/homelessness), legislative briefings, visits with your state legislators, and an interfaith worship. This year the faith community is uniting on Valentine's Day to call on our legislators to unite their hearts and minds and raise revenue instead of cutting funding for programs that support the common good.

REGISTER NOW: It saves you money and helps us with scheduling meetings and other planning. Cost to attend is $20 if you register by 5:00 PM on January 31, and $25 if you register beginning February 1. The registration fee includes a continental breakfast, lunch, and the cost of materials and organizing the event.

Some scholarships may be available for those with limited funds--please call or e-mail with your request. We can also help you arrange carpools with others from your area. If you know of faith communities that have vans we can use to carpool, please let us know!

The Dalai Lama has said that one of the most hopeful things about humankind is that our global awareness – our awareness of others beyond our families, friends, neighbors and communities – is growing. He believes this increased caring is the key to improving the world for everyone. It is this ultimate goal – creating a world that works for everyone – that is bringing together spiritual and religious leaders from around the world to Rome and Florence for "Awakened World 2012: Engaged Spirituality of the 21st Century." The Dalai Lama is a charter member of the International Interreligious Peace Council (IIPC), which, along with the Association of Global New Thought (AGNT) and the Interreligious Engagement Project (IEP), will be hosting the conference.

The purpose of "Awakened World 2012" is an ambitious one: to call attention to shifting paradigms in our world today- including concern for human rights and the environment - and help facilitate the religious and spiritual healing of the world. Men and women representing a diverse array of the world's wisdom traditions and cultures will meet to explore the evolution of religion and spirituality in the 21st century. The gathering will model the harmony of the world's great religious and spiritual communities – their common ground and the differences that make them unique.

At Awakened World 2012, you will:

  • work personally with global leaders from all faiths and cultures
  • explore the evolution of religion and spirituality in the 21st century
  • set the stage for the next decades of evolutionary activism
  • ground our shared vision by developing a plan of action

Registration cost includes Air, Lodging, Meals, Receptions, Concerts, Ground Transport, Tourism and Conference Fees

  • Past 3 months events
