Environmental Activist Summit, June 23

Join Washington environmental activists at scenic IslandWood on Bainbridge Island for a day of strategizing, skill-building, networking, and policy briefings on environmental issues. Washington Conservation Voters are sponsoring this event on Saturday, June 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants will discuss the upcoming opportunities and challenges for environmental issues in the state, participate in IslandWood's environmental-learning program, network with a community of activists and environmental leaders, and learn new skills for effective activism.

Agenda highlights include featuring invited speaker Representative Jay Inslee; a roundtable discussion on Washington land use and the post-933 agenda; case study information on turning your local city council “green”; and “Green Speak” — environmental messaging that wins campaigns.

The event is free, but space is limited. Register online at www.wcvoters.org or contact Brendon Cechovic at 206-374-0760, ext. 108, or brendon@wcvoters.org.
