May Day, May Day!

The first Earth Day was 37 years ago, in 1970. I was co-chairman of Earth Week events and a campus organization called Eco-Alliance at Oregon State University. Earth Day was BIG TIME across the nation. I have been surprised at popular acceptance of some of the environmental messages. We have a long way to go, however. Many must be asking, “Where do we start?”

Below is an Earth Day report from a much younger activist on the current scene with an overdue message. I believe it is of profound importance, and one we have been attempting to put across for several years. Perhaps now it has sunk in, and we will see meaningful change in the right direction. One of our newer Black Lake Organic employees, Caitlin Moore, makes the the following report: in the next article.

Gary Kline is the owner of Black Lake Organic.
