"Workshops and Performance using innovative concepts in Tap, Hip Hop, and Salsa"

Workshops

Billy Corado

Salsa on One
Salsa is a dance that is rapidly gaining popularity on every continent, having a fusion of Cuban and Puerto Rico movements that later developed a fusion of Jazz, Modern, Ballet, and Hip Hop. Billy specializes in adding a fashionable, elegant, and stylish way of dancing to the music.

Performance and Competition
A workshop focused on preparing the students for performance and competition in the popular Salsa Congresses. Billy touches upon opportunities world-wide; how to choreograph, and expectations and responsibilities of the performers. Excellent for school dance teams, and individual dancers who want to take their passion for dancing to another level.

Reggaeton/Hip Hop
An international dance that has conquered the world, blending elements of African urban movements with the new Latin style, influenced by dance commonly found in the streets. The workshops focus on learning how to control the body, by studying isolations concepts. The musical roots are from the streets of Puerto Rico, mixing Reggae with Hip Hop beats.

Fredy Corado

Steps and Ritmo
This introduction to Tap dancing presents the art not only as a dance, but provides techniques in moving the feet as a musical instrument. The student learns how to replicate sounds found in their favourite music to their feet.

Advanced Steps and Other Rhythms
Providing opportunity for students of Tap and Riverdance to explore ways to be more creative with their technique by way of learning how to replicate the sounds and music they hear into their choreographies.

Latin Tap
By using the basic drum rhythms of Rock, Jazz, and Funk, this workshop leads the student to the complex studies of Latin rhythm. Students then learn how to translate these sounds to foot movements, thus using their feet as a musical instrument.

Calle Latina
Using buckets, sticks, and recycled materials as instruments, this workshop combines dance movement, vocal sounds, and Latin rhythm to create an exciting visual effect for parades, performances, and parties.
